Pool Vacuums Specially Designed for Underwater Use

Swimming pool cleaning toolThere are two main types of pool vacuums: Manual and automatic. Both make the task of cleaning the bottom of your pool easier, faster, and more convenient.

Pool vacuums suction up dirt, sand, and other debris that can collect on the bottom of your pool. Outdoor pools are especially vulnerable to collecting unwanted items on their floors. So either manual or automatic vacuuming of any outdoor pool is generally necessary.

Pool Service Fort Lauderdale — Pool Vacuums Are Unique

Unlike the vacuum cleaners you use in your home or in your car, pool vacuums are specially designed for underwater use. While they use electrical components, they are insulated to prevent their electricity from being transferred to the water.

Using an automatic vacuum is miraculously easy. You simply put it in place, turn it on, and the device takes care of the rest. Automatic pool vacuums will continually scour the bottom of your pool until you turn it off, much the way new types of automatic floor vacuums work inside your home.

Pool Service Fort Lauderdale — Using a Manual Vacuum

Manual vacuums require a little bit more effort. Most feature a vacuum head, a vacuum hose, and a telescopic pole.

To use a manual vacuum, all you need to do is to attach the vacuum head to one end of the telescopic pole. This lets you move the vacuum head around the bottom of the pool from the pool deck.

Then you simply attach one end of the vacuum hose to the vacuum head and then hold the pole in your hand and lower the head into the pool. Plug the other end of the hose into the water intake nozzle to send water through the hose. This will cause air bubbles to rise up from the vacuum head.

Once the hose is full, no more bubbles will come out and suction will be created, holding the head flat and tight against the pool floor.
