How Often Should You Clean Your Pool? It Depends

Swimming pool cleaning toolThe one question our outreach team always gets from new clients is, “How often should I have my pool cleaned?” The answer depends on a number of different factors.

Pools come in different sizes. Some are used much more often than others. Then there are things to consider like weather, season, and other external factors that can influence the frequency of your pool cleaning.

Our goal is to provide you with the cleanest, safest pool possible. So we will take all of these factors and more into account before determining your specific cleaning schedule.

Pool Service Fort Lauderdale — Big vs Small

You might think that big pools need to be cleaned more frequently than small pools, but this is not always the case. It depends on a number of variables:  The type of equipment that is used to filter the pool, how many people use the pool and how often, and the efficiency and quality of the chemicals in the water, to name a few.

There are large pools that are hardly ever used and small pools that are in near-constant use. So to make a blanket assumption that big pools need to be cleaned every week while small pools can wait for every two weeks isn’t just inaccurate, it also can be potentially dangerous.

Pool Service Fort Lauderdale — The Choice Is Yours

Some pools sit directly under a large tree, which can deposit leaves, twigs, and bird waste into the water with more frequency. Others are in direct sunlight all day, which can accelerate the breakdown of the chemicals in the water.

These factors and more are taken into account when determining the recommended pool cleaning schedule for your swimming pool. But it’s only that: A recommendation. Ultimately, the final decision is up to you.

Our experienced, knowledgeable pool technicians’ primary goal is to provide you with a safe, clean, and comfortable swimming experience.
